Unlike the themes in his music, Hank Snow remained married to his wife, Minnie, for his entire adult life, over 60 years. They married in 1935 but in the 50s Hank released two relationship-questioning tearjerkers in ‘Married By The Bible, Divorced by the Law’ (1952) and ‘Marriage And Divorce’ (1957), both focussing on the breakdown of marriage vows in modern times, referencing the suffering of children in such situations, and delivered with Hank’s gorgeously judgmental drawl.
